May 2022: I did not choose this, this was chosen for me!
It has been a learning curve with this online booking app conversion! And I appreciate everyone’s continued patience. I have been having quite a few random issues with Booksy. Overall, I think it’s a great change and Booksy will allow me to offer packages and a few other things that Genbook tried and failed at. But I’ve had to re-do much on the back side and there is soooo much excess that is for retail that is *in my way*! The internal layers are a real issue, menus within menus within menus. It’s been a struggle trying to keep everything up to date while learning a new booking system during my spring semester!! I was *notified* the day my spring semester began that Genbook had been bought out and was being replaced! I am working on getting a few more things back online: extra add-on options, making packages, memberships & gift certificates. Trying to simplify things overall for both you and me!! Feedback is welcome.
I will be leaving for Peru in 2 days and am not sure what my course load will look like while I am there. I’ll be back mid-June & will be free (for a few weeks at least) to focus on figuring all of this out!
June 12, 2023. After my annual black Friday sale (Nov 2022), I realized Booksy was very inadequate & had many issues behind the scenes. I guess until I learn to write programs, I’ll have to just figure out what software works best for my needs. I am finally steadily familiarizing myself with the system (as it’s a larger one that offers much more than I need. A few oddities but overall happy & will hopefully not have any (more) major issues for a long while!!
In January 2023, I began researching more online booking companies, after a few attempts, I found Vagaro. I am mostly bound by finding a new system that can legally import my 100+ 5 star reviews! I am unwilling to walk away from the reputation I have spent years building!! But had a tough time switching, other things didn’t import smoothly & I was unable to complete the switch prior to my spring school semester beginning. I finally made a semi blind leap in April, due to more issues with Booksy. Overall I am happy thus far with Vagaro. Their interface could be a little smoother, but the step by step is easier for most. Hopefully the system will also allow me to expand for meditation groups and other wellness ideas to finally come to fruition!
